We= lcome to the late-Winter edition of the Spring Ridge newsletter. = It's an exciting and busy year for the Spring Ridge Board as we work to co= mplete our fantastic pool and playground renovations. The loan is sig= ned, the pool demolition has begun, and the playground is already finished.= Please be aware that there are many people behind the scenes pu= tting in time to make these projects go smoothly. Many thanks to all = the volunteers who have helped out so far on all our projects. Perhap= s you'd like to get involved too? We have several openings this year = for officers and committee chairs, so please contact any officer if you're = interested in being part of the team. Our all volunteer force does a = great job of keeping our expenses reasonable and our quality high.

We= have a small change coming this year with dues. Due to ambiguity ove= r the "due date", versus "late date", versus "deli= nquent date", this year dues are simply due o= n May 31.&= nbsp; Please be sure to get your dues in on time or early to avoid the mand= atory late fee. We have the added benefit this year of our very own m= ailbox at 139 Ridge Way where you can simply drop dues off at your convenie= nce. We also plan a more structured approach to resolving delinquenci= es faster through our legal group, so don't get caught up in that. Du= es can be paid in 3 installments of $191.67, or just pay the total of = $575 any time before May 31.

An= other initiative we've been focusing on is parking on the street. Giv= en the hills and curves of our neighborhood, not to mention the number of s= mall children and walkers, cars on the street pose a serious safety risk.&n= bsp; They block visibility, obstruct intersections, and cause dangerous con= gestion where traffic meets. Plus the real estate agents hate th= em because they make the neighborhood look ugly. Also note,= it is against the law in Roswell to park on the street longer than 10= hours and the City can be strict about enforcement. Please understan= d our interests and try to regularly park cars in the driveway or garage wh= enever possible.

We= look forward to a grand new pool opening this year and many more exci= ting events. Please be sure to check the website occasionally for upd= ates and read through this newsletter for other important announcement= s and event dates. We hope that you will have the opportunity this ye= ar to use the pool, tennis courts, playground, and clubhouse that we are wo= rking so hard to maintain. May you have a great 2008!

Pool and Playground News:

Pool Renovation Update: Bra= d Riffel

The pool renovation project= s started near the beginning of Jan. and the demolition portion went quickl= y. We ran into a slight delay in February. when Roswell informe= d us of needing a “Building Permit” of all things. We tho= ught we had secured all necessary permits until this was brought up. T= hat coupled with the frequent, and welcomed rain through February has put t= he project slightly behind schedule. The contractors know that w= e need the project finished by May 9^th so swim team can begin pra= ctices on May 12^th. They have given us = their schedule and will do all they can to accomplish that deadline. =

: = If you see anyone abusing the playground, pool or tennis courts, or acting = inappropriately please call t= hem on it. It is all of our duty to maintain the premises and if we allow t= hings to go, our premises will deteriorate. One member saw two boys who wer= e at least 4-6^th= g= raders on the playground using the teeter totter inappropriately. Anot= her member saw a 9mm Winchester empty casing on one of the wood tables by t= he playground after seeing two vehicles parked, after school hours with two= guys sitting at the table who were not from our neighborhood. If you do no= t want to confront them yourself, please call aboard member or the Roswell = police.

There are lots of teams for you to participate in team tennis. Men’s, Women’s, Mixed Doubl= es, Senior’s and Juniors. If you are new to the neighborhood or new to tennis, please contact me.<= o:p>

Junior lessons will begin in March. = This is available to boys and girls of all ages, both residen= ts of Spring Ridge (HOA) and guests. Pure Tennis is the group of coaches that run= the lessons. A session is ty= pically 8 weeks of 1 hour lessons. <= /span>If there is interest, we can continue in the summer. Perhaps after swim team, or a smaller session= to accommodate for families traveling during summer. Please notify me if you are interested.=

Please remember to turn off lights and assure the gates are locked when le= aving the courts. No food, ba= lls, wheels of any kind. Tenn= is courts are for tennis only. We may be having (budget allowed) cement poured stairs to replace the rai= lroad ties. If this occurs, p= lease respect the roped off areas for a couple days and walk the long way a= round.

Memorial Day weekend we will host a kids round robin and <= span style=3D'font-size:12.0pt;text-decoration:underline;text-underline:single; language:EN;mso-ansi-language:EN'>adult round robin. This is a fun, social, laid- back way to meet others in the neighbor= hood that love tennis too. Pl= ease try to attend! Dates wil= l follow.
